Be Your
Own Boss: Innovation Olympics
Bulldog
Entrepreneurs holds the Be Your Own Boss Innovation Olympics
to create awareness about entrepreneurship and innovation.
This event gives students the opportunity to network with
other like-minded individuals on campus as well as in the
community. Entrepreneurs host game tables and talk about
their entrepreneurial experiences and then play innovation
based games with students. These games challenge students to
think outside the box in analytical thinking and problem
solving. Not only must students solve problems individually,
they must also work in collaboration with other students to
achieve the same goal. So students compete individually and
collectively to increase their chances at winning the
prizes.
The inaugural Innovation Olympics was held on April 28,
2010. This event featured a series of games connected to
entrepreneurship and innovation, and opportunities to visit
with real life entrepreneurs. At the close of the event,
Bulldog Entrepreneurs awarded hundreds of dollars in prizes
to students including a Nintendo Wii and a Playstation 3.
Bulldog Entrepreneurs looks to host two Innovation Olympics
events each academic year. They have already hosted their
first one for the 2010-2011 year on October 7, 2010. This
event focused on generating innovative ideas and served as a
kickoff for the countdown to the TOP DAWG Idea Pitch. Once
again students competed for prizes and had the chance to
hear about the exciting upcoming events hosted by the
Bulldog Entrepreneurs.
